we offer our apologies for the mistakes made in our management of natural resources and our slowness to respond to the environmental emergency. The mining industry, while a source of progress, has caused environmental devastation, leaving scarred lands and destroyed ecosystems.

Although we recognized the need for an energy transition, we often repeated the same mistakes, extracting resources irresponsibly to produce green technologies. Our failure to act quickly and decisively in the face of the climate crisis is another source of regret.

We have come to realize that our environmental responsibility has been insufficient, and while we have made efforts, they often came too late. We hope that you will be able to repair the damage we have caused, restore ecosystems, and create sustainable energy systems. We are sorry for the world we leave you, but we believe in your ability to make it better.
